Day #1

Today I worked on making Mr.Magers a flyer for his summer field hockey league. He wanted it in portrait form but I decided that it would look better if i had it in landscape form because the image I used of a girl playing field hockey fit much better on the right hand part of the page and didn’t interfere with any of the text I had to incorporate into the flyer. He also gave me the project of making a flyer for the Manchester Essex Regional High School Appalachian Mountain Club, I was thinking of putting a part of a mountain with a rock climber hanging off as some sort of way to grab the attention of anyone who passes the flyer. This flyer will be more of a project because there is over 1 page of text I need to read and slim down to about 3 sentences to fit it on the flyer. It is defiantly doable though. Another project I had was to find and take notes on a graphic design book although it is from 1999 I still think it can lend me some good tips about the actual field of graphic design out in the working world. After flipping through the book “Commercial Art and Graphic Design Careers” I established that it will not be easy to do this job even if you are gifted with the ability to create and design. You need to take your customers desires into account when making them a design.
